Worth Foundation Fund – the only retail-specific competition of its kind – has generated a record-breaking £300,000 of investment, making it the largest crowd-funded fund ever.* And as the closing-date for entries looms, the team behind it are urging would-be retail superstars to enter now, before it’s too late.
Launched by Worth Retail this January, the competition has seen an expert panel scouring the nation for a retail entrepreneur with an idea that will get the public clamouring to open their purses and wallets. The unprecedented levels of interest in the fund means that the winner will now receive £150,000 of investment and two runners-up will receive £75,000 each, 50% more than they were originally expected to receive.
The funds were raised on equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs, which allows the public to invest in and own a portion of each of the Worth Foundation winning businesses.
