Serial small business thieves captured on CCTV

Police in Leicester have been reviewing CCTV images of people they suspect have been stealing from businesses.

The CCTV footage shows two women and one man. The two women and man were all filmed in a Co-Op store in Kegworth on Wednesday, July 16.

The police believe that the two women featured in the footage were hiding stolen shop stock in and under their skirts. All of them are wanted on suspicion for stealing a number of items from businesses in the area.

There has also been released of a separate occasion of theft. Police would also like to trace another man who was filmed in Louise’s Place coffee shop and wine bar, in Market Harborough on Saturday, July 20.

The officers would like to interview this individual about the suspected theft from a safe in the business’s office.

Pc Dean Munsey stated: “I would ask members of the public to take a second to view the images if you recognise anyone to please get in touch
“They may have some valuable information which could help us with our inquiries.”

A spokesperson from Alertsystems commented: “It is not uncommon for thieves to specifically target a number of small businesses. They are considered easy targets with limited repercussions.

The implementation of CCTV in businesses this size means that police can create stronger and more successful investigations. Being able to appeal to the public with captured CCTV footage has proved to be one of the most effective ways of bringing criminals to justice.”
