Simple Ways To Stay Productive At Home In Lockdown
After almost a year of living with a global pandemic from the safety of our homes, it is safe to say that the world has become a different place.
By the time we get back to real life things will feel much different and a lot of us will struggle with the intensities of productive life. It is time for us to make effort to be more productive at home during winter lockdown and get that fast paced mindset back before we get back to reality.
Today we want to talk about some of the best ways you can stay productive at home this winter.
Create a workspace
It is important for you to consider when working from home to create a space which is dedicated to work. It is all too easy when at home to sit in bed in our pyjamas or sit on the sofa with the TV on: but you’ll never get much done like this! There are so many benefits of continuous improvement to your workspace at home, and you can create an actual office at home which will give you the motivation to work. Once you have a dedicated workspace at your disposal you will be able to be more productive overall.
Get dressed
It is so important when you are working at home not to fall into the trap of wearing your pyjamas. As comfy as they might be; wearing pyjamas will only cause you to struggle with your own motivation and make you feel less energised for the day. So suck it up and put those jeans on!
Catch up with the team
If you are working from home as part of a team during lockdown it is very important for you to catch up every day for 10-20 minutes to see where everyone is at. This is not only a good way to ensure everyone else is staying on track, but it will also hold you accountable for your own role and ensure that you don’t let things slide because you are in the comfort of your own home.
Set deadlines for work
One of the most important things you can do when working at home is set yourself deadlines for pieces of work. When you are away from the traditional office and not underneath the thumb of your boss it is very easy for you to slack off a bit. But if you set yourself deadlines for work, you’ll have a goal to work towards and as a result it will help you be more productive.
Write a to do list
A brilliant method for encouraging productivity is to spend the last 10 minutes of your working day writing a to do list for the next day. This can be a wonderful method to kickstart your day because it will prevent you spending half an hour when you start work deciding what to do first. By planning work the night before you can sit down and get going immediately – thus being much more productive.
