We are getting closer and closer to Christmas, and in preparation for the festive season, it is time you start thinking about how you can make your employees’ Christmas merry this year. Since Christmas is a time for giving, here are 6 ways you can reward your employees this Christmas.

Contents
  • Flexible working
  • Gifting a Christmas present
  • Christmas event
  • Awards ceremony
  • Extra holiday time
  • Christmas bonus
  1. Flexible working

Whilst lockdowns have ended, remote working has not – why not reward your employees with the option of working from home since family time is important during the Christmas season? It is possible that you may already offer this, maybe even a 6:4 ratio in terms of time spent in office and at home, but instead, you should consider offering a 5:5 or even 4:6 ratio for your employees – at least during the Christmas period.

  1. Gifting a Christmas present

Another way you can reward your employees is to simply give an early Christmas present! These employee rewards are sure to boost not only the wellbeing of your employees, but also their morale and motivation, which may result in increased productivity. You could even arrange a Secret Santa which is ideal for small teams, but if you are willing to give something to each of your employees, gift cards are the perfect present this Christmas.

  1. Christmas event

Christmas is all about fun and who doesn’t love a joyful Christmas event? This could range from a work Christmas party, to a group Christmas dinner, to a Christmas jumper day. There are various different events you could host for your employees during the festive season, so don’t be afraid to get creative. This allows time for your employees to relax and simply enjoy themselves since it’s Christmas time after all.

  1. Awards ceremony

Rewarding your employees should mean that you appreciate their contribution to the company – so why not say thank you with an awards ceremony? It can be held in-person or virtual, including everything from speeches to trophies and prizes. The latter, of course, would act as an incentive for your employees to work harder to win a prize. Such awards are great reminders to your employees that their hard work does not go unnoticed.

  1. Extra holiday time

It may be a good idea to consider providing extra holiday time for your employees. A good work-life balance is important for any employee, so offering extra holiday time, separate from their holiday allowance, may be the motivator for enhanced productivity and wellbeing for your employees. Giving your employees luxuries like this can help foster a comfortable and energised workforce, in particular improving their relationship with you and the company, helping to cultivate employee loyalty.

  1. Christmas bonus

As well as a Christmas present, a Christmas bonus is the icing on top! You may want to take a page out of Amazon’s book and give your employees a Christmas bonus this year, and possibly every year, especially if your company is doing well. You should recognise that your company’s success wouldn’t be possible without your employees, so Christmas is the best time to show your employees that you acknowledge their value to the company.

So, there you have it – 6 ideas for rewarding your employees at Christmastime.
