How it Can Help Your Online Business

When it comes to businesses in eCommerce, embracing business-to-business solutions is something that can make a real difference. B2B eCommerce is all about the online order transactions that go on between businesses. Orders, when completed online, are processed digitally, and as a result, can make buying efficiency much more improved for those involved, such as wholesalers, manufacturers, and other B2B sellers.

So many companies are embracing online selling now, due to the technology that is available, as well as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, even as far back as only two years ago, it was found that half of companies are buying stock and products online, as well as doing their purchasing online, at places like Shonn Brothers. Any emerging eCommerce technologies are making this all simpler too, as a lot of business-to-customer businesses are implementing B2B elements, and vice versa. So what are the different kinds of B2B eCommerce models, and how could being part of it help your eCommerce business?

Wholesale

Businesses will often look to buy their goods in bulk for a much lower price, and then go on to sell them at their retail value. The goods that are usually purchased, tend to come directly from a manufacturer or distributor. This is what is known as wholesale, and it is a pretty common way of doing B2B. Wholesale describes the sale of any goods to other businesses.

There are a number of wholesale B2B models that are used in a lot of industries like food, retail, medical, and construction. With wholesale and eCommerce, it is all about using a B2B digital ecommerce platform. That will then allow a wholesaler to show off products easily, as well as make the whole process a seamless experience.

Manufacturers

Manufacturers are the ones that produce the finished goods, but can do so on a large scale by using different parts and raw materials, combined with manual labor and some machinery. In a business-to-business model, the final goods are then sold on to other manufacturers or sold onto wholesalers. As an example, the automobile industry is a good one to look at. The manufacturer is the one who creates the car parts. Then, the manufacturer is the one who will sell those parts to any automotive company that wants to build a car with those parts, which is then sold on to customers once created.

Distributors

A distributor is a business or someone who works closely with manufacturers, to be able to get products out and about and get them seen. When thinking about eCommerce, the logistics of the sales can happen online, most often through an eCommerce platform. As a result, a lot of manufacturers can work with distributors to be able to take things digital, to provide more chances of business growth. Working with a distributor can shorten the lead time that can happen, right from the sale to the delivery, and then it can help to create a customer experience that will exceed any expectations.
